Ruby Wedding Anniversary - May 3rd 2009
Welcome to my family website.
I set up a website for the first time about 20 years ago on a free page that was provided by my internet service provider at the time. However, that is now long-gone and in 2016 I decided to use the format of that website to set up a new but still fairly basic one, using this domain on a dedicated server, from where I also run a forum . Having gained a bit more experience over the years, I have now moved forward and have created this one, amongst others. Although I have lived in Lowestoft since 1990, like my father, I was born in Seaforth, a northern suburb of Liverpool, where I
lived for over 28 years before my work took me south to Cheltenham and Gloucester in the mid-1970s before moving back north to Handforth in Cheshire for a number of years in the mid-1980s. My wife Enid was born in Cheshire, although lived in Parbold, near Ormskirk in Lancashire when I met her in 1966 and we were married for over 53 years, having celebrated our Golden Wedding in May 2019. The photos from our wedding album can be found under the ‘More’ tab in the menu bar at the top of the page. Sadly, Enid passed away at home in the early hours of Wednesday August 17th 2022, surrounded by her family. Her funeral took place on Friday 2nd September at Waveney Crematorium and Memorial Park. Enid and I have two daughters, who were both born in Liverpool before we moved away, and they in turn gave us four grandchildren. Our elder daughter Julie is married to Jim and they have two sons, Jamie (26) and Luke (23) and live in Lowestoft. Our younger daughter Susan is married to Mark and they have a daughter - Chloe (19) and a son - Kyle (15) and live in Colne, Lancashire. You will meet them all on the next page (link below) and on various other pages of images and video galleries from the links at the top of the page. You will also meet the other three most recent ‘members’ of the family - Freddie, our cat who was was born on June 10th 2016 and Shadow, our budgerigar who sadly passed away on 11th February 2020, aged five. On November 6th 2019 we welcomed a new member to the family - a nine-week-old female kitten whom we named Suki. One of her first pictures is on the ‘Our Family’ page, with more in her photo gallery - number_32 and the more recent Freddie_&_Suki gallery. A new page of pictures - number_36 - taken on Suki’s first birthday, was added on 1st September 2020. I have been interested in photography since I bought my first camera - a Kodak_Bantam_Colorsnap_3 - in 1964, for the princely sum of £5.1s.7d - about a week’s wage to me then when I was 17 - and long before digital. In those days I also used to enjoy doing my own black and white developing, printing and enlarging and in later years I also tried out the processing of colour slide film. There are now thirty-six photo galleries on here displaying over 3,900 images, plus three of videos containing twenty movies of varying length of up to about 20-minutes - some in slow-motion. The most recent video was taken and uploaded on the 7th April 2020, when Suki daringly ventured outside into the garden of her own accord. Please check back from time to time as I continue to expand some of the existing galleries and add new ones of both images and videos, which I hope you will find interesting. Updated October 2023

Memorial Bench
On June 30th 2023, I placed this teak memorial bench in the garden onto which I had affixed an engraved brass plaque in Enid’s memory, Later I added two ‘Coreopsis Bright Touch’ perennial plants in rattan planters and six colour-changing solar-powered cracked-glass-effect lights.
